Over the years, our company has been involved in many projects related to parking garage repairs and building envelope inspections. We performed condition inspections of balconies, load testing of roof anchor systems for window washing or construction equipment, rehabilitation designs and construction management for concrete repairs. In our area there is substantial concrete deterioration due to the extensive use of de-icing salts in the winter time. In older buildings it becomes necessary to replace major portions of the floor slabs which crumble after years of salt attack. Moisture and salts trapped under balcony carpets cause scaling and delamination. Railings on several apartment buildings had to be replaced due to the corrosion of anchor plates.
